Two members of 'gulel gang' arrested in Delhi


New Delhi, Oct 14 (IANS): Delhi Police on Wednesday arrested two members of "gulel gang", known for stealing valuables from parked vehicles using catapults.

Two stolen pistols, four live cartridges and a motorcycle used in their criminal activities have been recovered from them, police said, adding the accused used to steal valuables from cars by breaking their windowpanes using "gulel" (catapult) and small iron balls.

The two accused, Shashi Kumar, 26, and Deepak, 23, were arrested from Dhaula Peer near Lado Sarai in south Delhi on Friday following a tip-off.

During interrogation, both the accused confessed to their involvement in several cases of theft across the national capital, police said.
