Bangladesh issues stamp on China ties


Dhaka, Oct 18 (IANS): Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has formally released a commemorative postage stamp marking the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Bangladesh and China.

The stamp, released on Saturday, features a handshake between Hasina and President Xi Jinping with both national flags, the image of Bangladeshi founding father Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, China's Great Wall and Bangladesh's National Martyrs' Memorial, reports Xinhua.

Hasina also released a first-day cover and a data card.

The stamp and the first-day cover cost 10 taka each while the data card is of 5 taka denomination.

Bangladesh and China officially established diplomatic relations on October 4, 1975.
