Bengaluru, Oct 22: The recent decision Karnataka Government’s to do away with Trade License for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) in the State has been welcomed by the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) as a step in the right direction.

The ASSOCHAM, has in a press statement, termed the step as a welcome move that was long awaited.

It said the move will send right signals to the investor community especially when the state was preparing for its Global Investors’ Summit scheduled to be held early next year.

Describing the move as one that would lessen the compliance burden on small units, ASSOCHAM expressed confidence that the same will boost efficiency and productivity of enterprises in the State.

MSME units are already laden with numerous approvals and regulatory requirements that take away their precious time and resources, the ASSOCHAM said describing the decision has come as Dussehra gift for MSME units.
