Be careful while making statements, Rajnath tells ministers

New Delhi, Oct 23 (IANS) : Ministers and leaders should be "extra careful" while making statements on sensitive issues and they cannot later on get away merely by saying that they were "misinterpreted", union Home Minister Rajanth Singh said on Friday.

The statement of Rajnath Singh, who did not name anybody, came in the wake of controversies over the remarks of union ministers V.K. Singh and Kiren Rijiju on Dalit killings in Haryana and north Indians respectively.

"One should choose his words carefully before making any statement on a sensitive issue," the home minister told the media when asked about V.K. Singh's use of an analogy of a dog on Thursday while talking about the death of two Dalit children in an arson attack in Haryana.

"We can't get away by saying that (our) statement was misinterpreted. We need to be extra careful while putting forth our views," he said.

Asked about the gory killings of the two children by the upper caste men, the former army chief said: "If someone throws stones at a dog, the government is not responsible. It was a feud between two families, the matter in under inquiry.... The failure of the administration should not be blamed on the government."

Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju said on Wednesday that people of north India generally enjoyed breaking the law and rules.

"I was witness to a statement made by one of Delhi's former lieutenant governors. He had stated that the people of north India enjoy breaking the rules and by evening he was forced to apologise. But I believe what he said was right," Rijiju said.

V.K.Singh and Rijiju later apologised for their remarks.

To be careful about making statements?
Whatever is stored and over flowing in their mind is naturally coming out.
Right precaution would be to take care about what goes inside their mind.

Now there is new culture which ministers r cultivating:saying whatever they like knowing very well the party supports it behind the scenes and asking sorry without really being sorry! Let a law take its course and let us see how many times they say sorry!

What Rajnath Singh did is a political statement. the meaning is that 'YOU DO NOT MAKE STATEMENTS BUT DO THOSE THINGS'
As far as V K Singh, it is very much deplorable for a Ex-Military Chief for his status (forget the ministers, they do not need any qualifications) to have uttered such words.

Very much disappointed with the way Indian Media, Journalism works. There is no professionalism in their profession, it's just like gutter, drainage.
If responsible media, they should see how can they contribute to the society, how to improve people's lives.
Their duty is to question the Government on Jobs, development, projects, crimes, Problem faced by public in their daily activities.
But in India we have negative media, media themselves are political parties & Politicians.
Very much disappointed with the media.
Government should implement Digital India as soon, implement it in a speedy manner & all citizens should have access to mobiles to Social media so that everyone can know the truth, real news.
Media crooks along with politicians eating this country & make this country a junk.
Media is not bothered about Farmers suicides who are dying in large numbers & there is no debate in their journalism.
But they promptly highlight Dal, Onion Prices.
    GOD SAVE INDIA.

Addhe Raaga...Addhee..Taala. 100001 barighe..from Rajnath and Modi combined.

BJP is all about bogus repeated stagements, which they themselves probably laughing at the end of the day.

But luckily not to bore people on their leaders statements, they have some trained bhakts, to sing some kind of aalaapa in vilaapa raga. People will then focus on the bhakts rather than boring leaders.

This is not more than crocodile tears. Talking something on the face and doing totally different in the back. You are government you have the capability to put an end to it to its root within no time. Why this hypocracy, just for votes?. Don't you realize that you are losing popularity with your own doing!.

V.K. Singh was a big military officer and of Rajaputra caste so he will see everybody else as dogs but he himself as real human being with two legs and two hands, but the rest are with four legs and tail. But, he may be bowing down before the cattle.

Mr. Modi has a bunch of great people like Singh to steer the nation into the heavenly paradise of acche din or aacha din.

Can we count the greater contributions delivered by the BJP Government around the world, even though still trapped up in the beef issue in India?

According to Times of India, Modi is surrounded by the weakest ministers, except Jetly, Swaraj, power and Railway ministers. Others, according to paper, are not worth their salt. BJP has plenty of very able persons, but since they will be independent thinkers, Nagpur disallowed Modi from appointing them. They want people dancing to the tune of Nagpur.
