Kasargod, Oct 25: The police have succeeded in arresting two persons in relation to Kudlu service cooperative bank robbery.
Mujeeb (27) from Kudlu Chowki who was living at Bandyod and Joeman Felix (30) from Ernakulam are the persons arrested.
Mujeeb is considered to be the main accused in the heist at Eriyal branch of Kudlu service cooperative bank on September 7, where, in a daylight robbery, 21 kgs gold and Rs 13 lac in cash were taken away after threatening those present there with weapons. After Mujeeb escaped, the police had released his sketch.

With these two arrests , the number of arrested persons in this case has risen to seven. Shariff (42) from Bandyod Pachchambala, who was the mastermind of this robbery, Karim (32) from Chowki, Muhammed Sabil (27), Abdul Mashook (25), and Shahnawaz (22) from Majal had been arrested earlier in this connection. 7.150 kgs of gold ornaments, which had been concealed under a coconut tree in the courtyard of a house in Pachchambala had been taken into possession by the police earlier.
Though the other accused were arrested within 20 days from the robbery, Mujeeb could not be traced for 49 days. As per information available now, Mujeeb and Joeman Felix were absconding in various places of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.
Police had information that the duo had bought a luxurious house in Virajpete in Coorg and also a Honda car. The gold kept hidden in that house was confiscated by police. Police who tracked Mujeeb by his mobile phone, managed to arrest him at Mulleria after receiving tip off about his arrival there. Meanwhile Joeman Felix who was admitted in a Coimbatore hospital due to malaria was apprehended from there after the police received information about it from Mujeeb.
Mujeeb and Joeman became friends due to their common addiction to ganja after they first met in Mangaluru. The duo had even paid Rs 4 lac advance to buy a property in Virajpete.
Police have seized a car and gold from the duo.
The police team is now looking for two more persons from Ernakulam, who are said to have been involved with this robbery.
