Udupi: Videocon introduces new smart phones in state

Udupi, Oct 25: Jerald Pereira, chief executive officer of Videocon Mobile Phones, at a press meet on Saturday October 23, said, “Videocon, which has been a household name in the field of home appliances and production of mobile phones, will launch new smart phones in Karnataka”.

“Videocon happens to be a six billion dollar group. We have now become a leading company in the field of production and marketing of smart phones in the country. We have now been concentrating on introducing new trend smart phones to the mobile phone market of Karnataka. We already have a client base of 13 million in the country for our cellphones,” he said.

He stated that in places like Manipal, Mangaluru and Udupi, people have been showing their liking for Videocon brand products. “We have released new Infinium series of smart phones to the market. We have a large distribution network. Although there is facility for online sale, we have a very good traditional distribution network and we have been laying emphasis on sale of high quality products through this network,” he explained.

He stated that Videocon, which has been designing and producing premium quality products in India, had lent its support to 'Make in India' concept long back. The company also has been giving importance to providing services to rural areas in addition to small cities and towns.

Pereira revealed that his company will be introducing 4G Krypton smartphone to the market next month.

“There are mobile manufacturing centres of the company at Kashipur, Aurangabad, Madhurai, Mana, Bengaluru and Telangana”, he said.
