Saturday being holiday, Vishnu Hebbar had accompanied his cousin, Chandrahas, to the river in the afternoon. Chandrahas was sitting on the river bank after taking bath, when he started becoming apprehensive at the fact that Vishnu, who had reached the middle of the river, never came back for a long time. Chandrahas rushed home and informed the family. Father of Vishnu, Sathish, immediately dived into the river, found his son who had drowned, and brought him to the river bank. Vishnu had become very sick by then. He was taken to the taluk government hospital in an ambulance, but Vishnu had passed away by then.

Vishnu is survived by parents, and a brother, Soorya Hebbar, who is studying degree in Vedic sciences at Sringeri. A case of unnatural death was filed in Venoor police station about this incident.

yes.... very tragic when folks go for swimming and gets drowned. Lot of instances during past few weeks and months... either in river Phalguni and Nethravathi. First of all, knowing the facts and recent incidents, why the hell you go for swimming in these rivers. that step itself is an alarming one, you are already in threat. Just think of the parents who take care of their kids so carefully sacrificing all their life, till this age of 20 ~ 30 and a day see their child has gone drowning in the river, what would be their condition... OMG. Please youth, don't put your parents and loved ones in this painful situation. Please avoid such steps... RIP

It is very much tragic to read that many youths in their 20s drowned in the water during past 2-3 months in our twin districts. A serious thought has to be given to avoid such tragedies by the concerned authorities either by the awareness or other sort of action.
