Jack Black not 'nervous' working with child actors

Mumbai, Oct 26 (IANS): Actor Jack Black, who stars as author R.L. Stine alongside three teenagers in director Rob Letterman's action-adventure film "Goosebumps", says he is not "nervous" about working with children in films anymore.

"I was nervous about working with kids when I started 'School of Rock' because I'd never worked with kids before and I was like, 'What if they don't like me?' But I had such a great experience on that film that I was like, 'Oh, this is perfect for me. I'm kind of like a big kid. I work well with kids'," Black said in a statement.

"I don't really think of these guys as kids because they're so smart and mature. But I guess you are still kids, you're still teenagers," he added.

Black said that he thinks of himself as a "father figure" for the young actors.

"I'm kind of like a father figure in a way; I have to make sure that they mind their Ps and Qs. But am I afraid of kids anymore? Now I've got kids, and I am afraid that I'm not doing everything right. But I'm not afraid of my boys. They're the most precious thing in my life," he added.

However, he said he is a "little afraid" of his youngest child, who practices karate on him.

Based on Stine’s best-selling book series of the same name, "Goosebumps" releases in India on Friday in English, Hindi and Tamil in 2D and 3D.
