Mangaluru, Oct 26: "The Congress government is supporting the minority community in the Prashant Poojary murder case. I visited Prashant's family and I can say that he was targetted mainly because he was from the majority community. So many such incidents have happened," said Bajrang Dal state convener Suryanarayana.
Addressing a press meet here on Monday October 26, he said, "I would like to thank the Dakshina Kannada police for arresting the accused in the Prashant Poojary murder case. But we are deeply hurt that the the police department has failed to mention that the culprits belong to Popular Front of India (PFI). PFI is the biggest traitor of the country. Bajrang Dal requests the government to ban PFI, as it has always been targetting Hindu leaders and trying to destroy peace in the society. PFI is a terrorist organisation and people need to be careful about this group," he said.
He further alleged, "All PFI members belong to the Muslim community, and I believe that they are not given proper guidance from their community leaders. We request Muslim leaders to impart good knowledge to them and bring them to the right path. In case they fail to transform their members and the PFI continues to target the Hindu community, in future, Hindus may have to go out on the roads armed with weapons. Self-protection is the first responsibility of any person."
Thanking the society for showing sympathy towards Prashant Poojary's family, he said, "So far many people, Swamijis and politicians have visited Prashant's house. However, the state government which had given Rs 10 lac to the family of Kabeer, who was killed in ANF shootout at Sringeri while smuggling cows, has failed to provide any kind of financial support to Prashant Poojary's family. Prashant had never done anything illegal. Government should not discriminate in these matters. It will lead to communal riots in the society. I request the state government to provide Rs 25 lac to Prashanth Poojary's family."
"I am well aware that there is an organisation called Human Rights Commission, which helps the minorities when there is conversion, and love Jihad and pub attacks happen. The Commission intervenes into these matters, earns fame and disappears. But when a Hindu is killed or when a innocent person is killed, why is the Human Rights Commission silent? We have met the Human Rights Commission members and requested them to visit Moodbidri and inspect everything and try to provide justice to the family of Prashant Poojary," he added.
"This is not just happening in Karnataka, but all over India. Lot of communal fights have happened regard cow theft and slaughter. The entire Hindu community does not tolerate cow slaughter. If the communal fights have to stop then the state government has to strictly enforce the Prevention of Cow Slaughter Act. We will organize a state-wide awareness programme on PFI, and a state-level meeting will also be held," he said.
Opposing 'Tipu Jayanti' which the state government plans to celebrate, he said, "Tipu Sultan was a traitor, a fanatic, a Hindu hater and plunderer and the government wants to celebrate Tipu Jayanti in November. We have no problem if the government wants to celebrate the birthday of A P J Abdul Kalam, but Tipu had caused nothing but pain to the Hindu community, destroyed Hindu temples and opposed Kannada language. The goverment is organising Tipu Jayanti with the tax payers' money, which is a shameful thing. Bajrang Dal condemns this. We are not opposing Tipu just because he was a Muslim, but because he was a Hindu hater and a traitor."
Bhujang Kulal, Sharan Pumpwell and others were present.
