Bantwal: Woman injured in family quarrel dies at hospital

Bantwal, Oct 27: A woman who had been attacked during a family quarrel is learnt to have passed away at a private hospital in Mangaluru on the evening of Sunday October 25.

Bifathuma (70), wife of Abdul Khader from Kadeshivalaya Dasakody allegedly was attacked by some family members, following arguments over marriage proposal within the family. It is said that Jubair, Riyaz, Salih, Ashique, and Ashfaq had attacked the woman on October 28.

After suffering injuries in the said attack, the woman was treated at the government hospital her, but she did not show any improvement in health condition. Therefore, she was shifted to a private hospital at Mangaluru a couple of days back. Although the doctors at this hospital tried their best to treat her, she succumbed to her injuries on Sunday evening, reports said.

On the basis of a complaint filed by Usman, relative of the deceased, a case stands registered in the rural police station here. Investigation has been taken up.
