Mangalore, Aug 4: Tension prevailed for sometime in the city owing to sudden fire in Diamond Building at Hampankatta here on Saturday August 4 morning.
A godown owned by one K R Sheth on the third floor of the building first caught fire. However, there were no valuables in the godown except a few bed sheets and few small things. Sources said that earlier godown was used to store Liberty slippers and shoes. But owing to certain reasons the godown was closed for sometime now.
As soon as fire was detected, fire brigade was informed about the same who came and extinguished fire quite immediately.
