Karkala, Oct 27: “The Grama Panchayat system is that which reaches till the last person” said District in charge minister Vinay Kumar Sorake.

Speaking after releasing a CD and booklet of five year's development work in Renjala Grama panchayat held at Renjala government higher primary school auditorium on October 25, he said that the Cabinet in the meeting has decided to support development work by Grama panchayats until those become self supporting while implementing

“Out of 168 promises made during state elections, 105 are fulfilled. It is decided to release Rs 20 crores for each constituency. Rs 75 lacs are being paid to five gramas under Grama Vikas project. An attempt to draw the attention of the government towards development work during the next five years by way of CD and book is a first of its kind. It is a unique programme that is an example to other panchayats. Direct communication between the management of grama panchayat management and minister of rural development will be arranged”, he said.

Approval order of house work, Cycles and checks were distributed to the beneficiaries under physically handicapped project. Grama panchayat president Vasu Shetty presided over the programme.

MLA V Sunil Kumar, former MLA H Gopala Bhandary, donor Mahaveera Hegde, Taluk tahsildar Raghavendra, zilla panchayat member Udaya S Kotian, Taluk panchayat member Nagappa Mera, work executive Chennappa Moily, Grama panchayat Vice president Baby Jain, Jinaraja Halma and others were present.

Grama panchayat member Ramesh Shetty welcomed. Teacher Muniraja Renjala compered the programme and proposed Vote of thanks.
