Dubai: Daiji Dubai to Hold Konkani Theatre Workshop and Poets' Conference

Dubai, Aug 5: A workshop on Konkani plays and a poets' meet will be held in Winnys’ Restaurant auditorium, Dubai, from 9-30 am to 7-00 pm on Friday August 17. It is being held under the joint auspices of Daiji Rang Mandir and Kavita Trust, Dubai, to be organized by the Daiji Dubai Writers' Forum.


Francis Fernandes Cascia, Lancy Pinto Nayak and Dayan D'Souza

Well-known Kankani writer Lancy Pinto Nayak will specially fly in from Kuwait to offer some insight into various aspects of modern drama which serves as a part of drama training.  Dramatist Francis Fernandes Cascia would share his wealth of experience on theatrics with the participants.

Those who wish to to take part in the workshop till 4 pm are requested to enroll their names in advance.  The participants are expected to pay Dh 10 towards breakfast and lunch.  Those who would like to attend this workshop can contact Daiji Rang Mandir conveners, Dayan D’Souza (050-6547235) or Alwyn Pinto (050-4583930.

A poets’ meet will be held from 4-30 pm to 7-00 pm to follow the workship. Dayan D’Souza will anchor the poet’s conference with his distinct humorous style.  It would be attended by Arthur Pereira, Vincent Pinto Angelore, Lancy Pinto Nayak, Francis Fernandes Cascia, Asha Pinto and Melvyn Rodrigues.  This poets’ meet will be open to all Konkani-lovers.

The release of Arthur Pereira’s new poetry book and installation of the new office-bearers of Daiji Dubai executive committee will be held on the same occasion.
