Mangaluru: Vicky Bolar murder - Five in custody, more details emerge

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, Oct 28: Relating to the murder of Vikram alias Vicky Bolar (28) late night on October 25, the Ullal police, with the support of city crime branch police, have taken five of the accused into custody.

The men taken into custody have been identified as Psycho Vicky alias Ravichandra Poojary (26) of Mulky, Harshraj (23), a resident of Kulshekar, Shiva (28), a resident of Jeppinamogaru, Deepak Sapaliga (30) of Alape, and Sudhakar (24) of Ulaibettu.

The police are doing all out efforts to catch hold of other accused, it is gathered.

Contrary to initial reports, it is learnt that Vikram had planned to attack and kill Psycho Vicky but got hunted down instead. It is now learnt that Psycho Vicky and some others had taken part in a Mehendi programme held at Vidyanagar, during which a friction broke out between some youngsters and Vicky's gang. Some members of the gang which fought with Psycho Vicky then conveyed information to Vikram Bolar about the development.

Vikram was at Bajilkeri at the time, it is said. Vicky reportedly smelt a chance to finish off Psycho Vicky relating to an old enmity, as he thought that he would draw support of the gang of youth there. It is learnt that he was accompanied by his friend Abhishek in the motor bike when he started towards Kumpala, and had two sabres with him.

But before Vicky could reach the spot where the said function was going on, Psycho Vicky had left the spot. The two gangs came face to face at Kumpala bypass. Those in the Scoprio sensed danger after seeing that Vikram and others were holding sabres and proceedings towards the venue of the function. They therefore planned to finish off Vikram, and chased the motor bike of the rival gang. All the three in the motor bike fell to the ground when trying to escape the oncoming vehicle. As Abhishek succeeded in getting up and running away, Vikram, who was left alone helpless, was attacked by Psycho Vicky gang and killed, it is gathered.

It is said that these two gangs had nursed a grouse on some silly issue long back, and the rivalry had become complicated, resulting in several fights between them over time. It is said that Vikram, who had taken part in a party organized for the Mangalore Dasara Huli Vesha artistes, was advised against attacking Psycho Vicky by his friends when he started from there, but he did not heed to their request. At the same time, Psycho Vicky gang, which was involved with friction at the Mehendi function, was sent away by the groom, sensing that the atmosphere could turn ugly. Therefore, Vikram's plan failed to materialize.

It was sounding like a Bollywood movie. really. What a days we are seeing in Mangalore. Looks it has gone beyond control and even police force can not control these folks I am sure. But it's a threat to a normal man as any time he could become the victim in these group rowdism. What were those days when we were so friendly across the religion, community... now it's hatred around... No idea where are we heading towards...

Not meaning to deviate, a lot of our filmy movies encourage such behaviour which took place in this case. The movies portray rowdyism to be the cool thing. Youth being encouraged by this behave in the same way. It is okay if one or two movies due to the storyline have such fights. However almost every other movie that comes up shows that issues can be resolved only by physically fighting it out. Hope directors of movies use more intellect and come up with movies where situation are solved with reason and lead people in the right direction.

yes, absolutely. 95 % contribution from media. They show rowdies as heroes of the movie. Earlier we had villains in the movies, now a days here himself will be a drug smuggler, underworld don... no movies come where the hero is a simple middle class salaried person who will avoid becoming rowdy and all. those kind of roles not at all see... that's why our society is like that.

Please do not enter this field of killing humans. If you are in this field leave it for good and go to a far away place and work and live else you will die one day in the street like a mad dog.
