Mangaluru, Oct 28: A man was assaulted by four unidentified persons with weapons near Wenlock hospital on the railway station road, Hampankatta here on Wednesday, October 28 evening. The seriously injured person in the assault has been taken to a private hospital in city where he is being treated.
The injured person has been identified as Ismail (34) from Kotebagilu in Moodbidri.
As per the information available, Ismail with his brother Hasanabba had arrived at Mangaluru Central railway station from Kerala by train late evening on Wednesday. They were walking towards Hampankatta to take a bus to Moodbidri when four youth came by two bikes and stopped the brothers. They then assaulted Ismail with the weapons and sped away from the spot.
The injured Ismail was rushed to the nearby private hospital.
Police complaint is yet to be registered.
