Mangalore, Aug 7: ‘Dental Home’, a programme on providing complete screening and treatment to children from the stage of infancy, was inaugurated by the Dr N Sridhar Shetty, director of centre for advanced dental and stomatognathic studies, at the AB Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental sciences (ABSMIDS) in Deralakatte here on Monday August 6.
The programme formed on ‘Dental Home’ is the concept prevalent in the US. It was commenced by the department of pedodontics and preventive children dentistry, ABSMIDS.
The programme was started by Prof Amitha Hegde, the head of development of pedodontics and preventive children dentistry. It is now being implemented jointly with the department of paediatrics, Justice K S Hegde charitable hospital and the DK chapter of Indian Academy of Paediatrics.
