Mangalore, Aug 7: The preparatory meeting was held by Coastal Karnataka Fishermen Action Committee on Monday Aug 6, at Bunder chaired by executive president Loknath Bolar, at the backdrop of call to stage nation-wide protest by National Fishermen Federation, on Thursday August 9.

Accordingly, the protest will be held in front of the office of deputy commissioner at 10.30 am on Thursday in order to urge the union and state government to fulfill their various demands.

Action Committee chief secretary Vasudev Boloor, Kulshekar Puthran, Trawl Boat Union president Sitaram Suvarna, vice-president Nitin Kumar, Persian Boat Union vice-president Naveen Karkera, Gil Net Fishermen Union president Ali Hassan, honorary president Satish Kotian and others were present at the meeting.
