Megadeth, The Wailers to perform in Kolkata

Kolkata, Oct 31 (IANS): The eastern metropolis is all ready for a thrash date! American thrash metal band Megadeth is set to perform on Sunday for hundreds of fans at the Kolkata edition of the Bacardi NH7 Weekender 2015.

Global names like Megadeth and The Wailers and Indian favourites Kailasa, Papon And The East India Company, Parikrama, Swarathma, Bhayanak Maut, Nucleya, Cactus and Nischay Parekh feature in the Kolkata edition spanning Saturday and Sunday.

Regarded as one of the "big four" of thrash metal, Megadeth are pioneers of the same American thrash metal scene that produced Metallica, Slayer and Anthrax.

The Wailers from Jamaica is a reggae band formed by the remaining members of Bob Marley & The Wailers, following Marley's death in 1981.

"The festival this year introduces three new stages - Moto Spotlight, Jack & Jones All Starr Jamm and Breezer Beat Camp - alongside the Bacardi Arena and The Dewarists which have been mainstays.

"In addition to the musical programming, the festival has plenty to experience right from the stage designs to the art installations and even the food," a statement from the organisers said.

The festival's bazaar will also feature the Maker's Market by Engrave, a specially curated space for artists, craftspeople, Do-It-Yourself enthusiasts and hobbyist entrepreneurs from across India to showcase their creative products.
