Karkala, Nov 2: In an incident which was reported from Nallur in the taluk, a drunkard youth skinned his father-law, after getting angry over advice offered to him to correct himself. This cruel incident occurred on Sunday November 1.

After Sadhu (32) removed skin from the thighs of his father-in-law, Nooja (65) from Indiranagar here, Nooja got admitted into hospital and filed police complaint.

Sadhu from Renjal near here had married the daughter of Nooja and Subbi couple 12 years back. Sadhu had shifted his residence and started staying with in-laws a year after his marriage. The couple has three children. Sadhu, who works as mason, happens to be a habitual drunkard and hence always spent all that he earned to buy liquor. Therefore, Nooja is forced to work as coolie to support his family at this old age, while Sadhu's wife rolls bidis.

The son-in-law often fought with his father-in-law routinely, and Sadhu always resented the old man's advice. It is gathered that Sadhu did not provide any financial support to the family since the last three years. On Sunday morning, Sadhu came home drunk and picked up fight with wife. When abusing his wife, he also indirectly derided his in-laws, it is learnt. Angered at these barbs, Nooja came near Sadhu and chided him for getting drunk and quarreling with wife. Sadhu leapt on his father-in-law and knocked him down to the ground. He then scratched the old man's thighs with his nails and then forcefully pulled off skin from there, it is said. Nooja suffered heavy bleeding, and got admitted into the government hospital here for treatment.

Nooja said he had been patiently trying to transform his drunkard son-in-law in the interests of the his daughter and grandchildren. As there is no hope, he said, he decided to file police complaint this time.
