Dammam, Nov 2: Bhatkal Muslim Jamaath Eastern Province held a grand get-together 'Bhatkal Community Milan' followed by dinner at Dehran International Hotel, Dammam recently.
Chief guest of the function, president of Bhatkal Muslim Khaleej Council and community leader S M Syed Khaleelurrahman congratulated BMJ on this wonderful function. He spoke about his business and said that he found people of Bhatkal do more business in Saudi Arabia than Dubai. He urged the people to earn through halal means, continuing the tradition of Sahaba, .
He also cited Prophet Mohammed as the best example for the whole world to emulate and spoke on the importance of education.
Guest of honour, chairman of International School, Dammam, Dr Abdus Salam addressing the gathering said, "I congratulate BMJ-EP for conducting such a mega event." He stressed on the importance of education in Islam and the contribution of Muslims in the field of science. He also gave examples of the amiable conduct of Prophet Mohammed towards his companions.

General secretry of BMJ-EP Mohammed Muzammil gave a brief introduction of Bhatkal Muslim Jamath-EP. Vice-president of Canara Muslim Khaleej Council, Zubair Manna was present on the dais.
Students hailing from Bhatkal were awarded gold medals for their excellent performance in exams. Class 7 student Mohammed Aazif, son of Ibrahim Nagarmat, class 8 student Ehab, son of Ibrahim Khaleel Pillur, class 10 student Ula, daughter of Ashraf Ali Ruknaddin, class 11 student Nusaiba, daughter of Abdul Jaleel Siddiqua, and class 12 student Ruwaiza, daughter of Abdul Rahman S J were the students who were awarded.
Mohammed Ammar, son of Moulana Abdul Basit won Special Talent award for memorizing the Quran in a very short time. Amr, son of Mohammed Jaleel Ekkeri won the award for Best Shooter in the under-19 basketball tournament.
Young kids presented skits in Nawayath and Islamic culture.
Nawayath singer, Naufil Damudi enthralled the audience with Nawayathi songs.
Lucky draw was conducted, and seventy prizes were given away. There were 4 cars, 17 Hero Honda Splendor bikes, 1,11,111 cash prize, gold necklace, 25 gold coins, Umrah tickets, Mumbai return tickets, tabs, mobile phones and many more among the prizes.
The programme began with the recitation of the Quran by Moulavi Awwab Akrami, Moulavi Jawwad Sukri presented Na'ath, while Ramiz Kola welcomed the gathering. Moulana Abdul Basit presided over the function.
Vice-president of BMJ Eastern Province Ibrahim Khaleel Jauhar introduced the guests and compered the programme. Convener of 'Bhatkal Community Milan', Irshad Siddiqua greeted the audience and commended them on the grand success of Milan. He thanked all the executive members and sponsors for making this a grand success.
The programme started at 10 pm and went on till 4.30 am.
BMJ Easteren Province, Dammam turned out to be a grand success and was witnessed by more than 1,200 community people from Dammam, Jubail, AL-Khobar, Rahima, Al-Hasa.
Guests From Jeddah, Riyadh, Yambu also attend the programme. There was a seperate programme for the ladies as well as a seperate lucky draw.
