Shanghai court dismisses case against stock exchange

Shanghai, Nov 3 (IANS): A Shanghai court has dismissed a suit filed by an individual investor against the Shanghai Stock Exchange for refusing to disclose trading information, a media report said on Tuesday.

After hearing the case in July, the Shanghai First Intermediate Court ruled that the disclosure requested by the plaintiff, an A-share investor surnamed Zheng, contained information on individual investors that should not be made public, the Global Times reported.

Zheng claimed that he tried to buy a stock at the highest bid for six straight trading days in January but all attempts failed.

He said he had asked the Shanghai Stock Exchange to tell him the accepted prices for the stock, the sequence and quantity of brokers' bids but the stock exchange refused to share the information.
