Mangalore, Aug 9: Continuing education programme, a day-long refresher programme on Good Dispensing Practice will be held jointly by Karnataka State Pharmacy Council Bangalore, S K District Chemists and Druggists Association Mangalore and Karavali College of Pharmacy, Vamanjoor, Mangalore at Karavali College of Pharmacy Vamanjoor on Sunday August 12.
This was announced in a press conference held here by Ganesh Kamath, secretary of the Dakshina Kannada District Pharmacists Association on Wednesday August 8.
Right drug to right person at right time is the objective of the one day refresher programme which would more or less be like a work shop, Dr Ramakrishna Shabaraya, principal of college of pharmacy said at the press conference.
It is also briefed in the press conference by the organizers of the programme that pharmacists need some times to play the role of doctors as the possibilities of committing mistakes on the side of doctors when they are busy can not be denied. Hence the pharmacists need to have professional touch besides their best academic qualifications and programmes like the organized one will cater to the requirements in the regard of making them professional.
The programme will be inaugurated by S Ganesh Rao honorary chairman Karavali Group of Colleges and chaired by Prof K Chinnaswamy, EC member, Pharmacy Council of India.
The chief guests will be Sharath B Gore, chairman K S P C Bangalore, Raj Vaidya, vice-president and divisional chairman community pharmacy I PA Mumbai, Prof TV Narayana, secretary, Educational Division I PA, MAV Ansari assistant Drug Controller Mangalore and Dr D Satyanarayana, president I PA Mangalore.
There will be four plenary sessions by various recourse persons as a part of the one day work shop, informed in the invitation.
