Pakistan ready for talks with India: Fatemi

Islamabad, Nov 4 (IANS): Islamabad is ready to hold dialogue with New Delhi on all outstanding issues, says special assistant to Pakistan prime minister on foreign affairs, Syed Tariq Fatemi here.

Addressing a seminar on “Pakistan India Relations -- Emerging Relatives” organised by the Karachi Council of Foreign Relations (KCFR) on Tuesday, Fatemi recalled that it was Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif who took the initiative, when after taking the charge of the office, he met his Indian counterpart Manmohan Singh on the sidelines of UN General Assembly at New York.

It was a reality that Sharif desires cordial relations with India, he added.

Even if Sherif wants peace with India, it is not possible because Pakistan government is under the clutches of terrorist groups and ISI. A country which is known to be a big liar at international level by providing shelter to notorious dreaded terrorists like Osama Bin Laden, Saeed Hafeez and Dawood, utter foolishness to expect cooperation from Pakistan.
