Bantwal, Aug 9: Sunita Lasrado, a resident of Sajipanadu village here who is said to have been converted after being kidnapped recently, was produced in Bantwal JMFC court on Wednesday August 8.

When she was questioned in the court, she said that she would not like to go with her parents.  Hence the court ordered the police to admit her to Reception Home at Vamanjoor.

Sunita was traced at Manjeshwar in a joint operation by DCIB inspector A D Nagaraj and Bantwal town sub-inspector Nagesh. She was produced before SP Satishkumar at Konaje police station on Tuesday August 7. But she had not agreed to go along with her parents. Hence, she was produced in the court on Wednesday August 8.

At the same time, police have produced a certain Hidayat of Manchi village and Dawood, in the court who allegedly kidnapped her. The court has remanded them to judicial custody for 2 days.

Sunita has however stated that she had not been kidnapped but she had gone willingly with Hidayat.  "But he duped me later," she confessed.

    Being a Christian, I feel, the men from other religion are taking "christian girls" for granted. The reason being, we don't show any emotion when such things happen, instead we take silent procession. I feel the time is right for us to unite and do something.
