Karkala, Nov 5: A case stands registered at Karkal town police station against the police sub-inspector Imran who allegedly assaulted a youth on Tuesday November 3.

The case has been registered based on the complaint filed by Raghavendra Moily who was assaulted.
Counter case registered
ASP Dr Sumana has informed that a case also stands registered at the same police station against Raghavendra Moily after the wife of the sub -inspector complained that he behaved indecently with her in a public place.
Further actions related to both the cases will be taken as per the directions from superintendent of police Annamalai, it is said.

Karkala, Nov 5: A police sub-inspector attached to Karkala town police station allegedly assaulted a youth for a minor reason on the night of Tuesday, November 3.
Raghavendra Moily (28) from Kukkundur near here was assaulted allegedly by police sub-inspector Imran.
As per information available, Raghavendra had gone to a grocery shop at Salmar, and when paying the bill, his hand touched a woman, and as per eyewitnesses, it was not intentional.
The woman who got annoyed by this complained to her husband, the policeman in question.
The SI who grew furious at the youth for touching his wife immediately slapped Raghavendra several times. The owner of the shop requested the SI to stop slapping and beating Raghavendra but he did not stop.
The SI then took Raghavendra to the police station and allegedly beat him up with a stick. Later Raghavendra was told to go home. Raghavendra who suffered fracture on his index finger and who was injured on his hips went to the local government hospital on Wednesday and got himself admitted.
Raghavendra has said that the sub inspector took the help of two police personnel to hold his hands while he was assaulted by the sub-inspector.
A host of people have visited Raghavendra at the hospital including former MLA Gopala Bhandary. Ravishankar Sherigar the president of taluk Devadiga Sangha has said that he has already spoken to superintendent of police Annamalai and a complaint will be given to taluk magistrate as well regarding the assault.
Raghavendra works for a finance company. He looks after his widowed mother. Raghavendra‘s father who worked for a bank died recently. Raghavendra is said to be waiting to get a job at the bank his father worked.
Sub-inspector Imran has declined comment on the issue.
