Chinese president leaves for Vietnam, Singapore


Beijing, Nov 5 (IANS): Chinese President Xi Jinping and his wife Peng Liyuan on Thursday left for Vietnam and Singapore.

President Xi will visit to Vietnam from November 5 to 6 at the invitation of General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee Nguyen Phu Trong and Vietnamese President Truong Tan Sang, Xinhua news agency reported.

After Vietnam, Xi will visit Singapore from November 6 to 7 at the invitation of Singaporean President Tony Tan Keng Yam.

Xi is being accompanied by top government officials and diplomats.
