Mangalore, Aug 9: Mega Sunni convention was held at town hall in the city, on Thursday August 9 evening.

Bekal Ibrahim Musliar, Udupi Khazi, inaugurated the convention. Kura Thangal, well known Muslim religious leader, invoked the special prayer on this occasion.

Two books, translation of first part of Quran and souvenir of Kannada Sunni Association, brought out by Sunni Guidance Bureau were released at the convention.

U T Khader, MLA of Ullal, former MLA Ibrahim, Bondala Jagannath Shetty, president, DK youth Congress, Padmanabha Bhandary, former president of Bantwal Taluk Panchayat, Krishnamurthy, assistant commissioner of Mangalore, Usman Karopady, vice-president of Bantwal Taluk Panchayat, Moiddin Bava, president, district Congress minority cell, Zakaria from Saudi Arabia and others were present on the occasion.
