Kundapur, Nov 6: A youth has committed suicide allegedly because his dreams of getting married a girl he loved did not materialise.

Pradeep (22) from Huchkeri in Hangaluru near here is the person deceased.

Pradeep was working at a press in Manipal for the past six months. Before that he worked in Bengaluru after his two years engineering diploma. Every day he commuted to Manipal for his work. As he had night shift from November 2, he would sleep during the day at home. On Thursday November 5 also he came home as usual and slept in his room. At around 2 pm his father woke him up to take his lunch. Pradeep refused to eat and later at 3 pm he was seen locking the bedroom door from inside. As Pradeep was not ready to go to his work as usual even after 5.45 pm, his father knocked on the door. When there was no response, the father opened the window to see his son hanging by the fan.

It is said that love failure prompted Pradeep to take the extreme step. He had loved a college girl from Kodi area. But her parents had objections to the marriage. Case stands registered at Kundapur police station.
