Mobile internet services suspended in Kashmir

Srinagar, Nov 7 (IANS): Mobile internet services across the valley were suspended on Saturday, ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Kashmir.

The service providers received queries as the mobile internet services suddenly stopped working.

The internet services were suspended as a security precaution, a top intelligence agency source told IANS.

"The services will remain suspended till the prime minister's rally ends in Srinagar," the source said.

Meanwhile independent legislator Engineer Rashid was detained in Srinagar after he staged a protest against Modi's visit.

"Go back! Modi, go back," Engineer Rashid shouted when police took him in preventive detention in Jawahar Nagar locality of the city.
