“New brooms sweep well” that was what transpired in this year’s inaugural meet of the Mangalorean Catholic Centre of the Parish (MCCP) on 10th August, 2007. MCCP’s Evergreen Personality and this year’s President – Mr. Stanely Fernandes with his like minded committee members has chosen an important theme “Borem Kutam Bori Samoj” (Good Family Better Soceity).

To translate this vision into reality, the Centre has taken lot of initiatives, and the fully packed Church Hall for the Inaugural Meet was a testimony to this fact. As always, the Community Priest and Centre’s Spiritual Advisor – Rev. Fr. Albert D’Silva, was instrumental in conveying the theme and keeping the flock together like a well knit fabric.

Family/parents play an important role in moulding their children and develop them to draw positive motivation from the society. Mother played an important role in Thomas Alva Edison’s life and the society enjoyed its benefits. Our mind may be likened to a garden, which may be intelligently cultivated or allowed to run wild. Act is the blossom of thought, and joy and suffering are its fruit.

Sangeeth Sobhann 2007 and related cultural programmes with right mix of ingredients have won people’s heart. I have had a privilege of enjoying the function with my family in the capacity of a member of Mangalorean community. It was surely a fruit of team work and dedication by the Executive Committee which led the function to a great success.

With this review of events, I wish the New Executive Committee, all the very best and success in their vision “Borem Kutam Bori Samoj” (Good Family Better Soceity).
