DUBAI, Aug 11:— Four Indian labourers died and four others were severely injured when a mini-van collided with a bus around 6.30am yesterday on Emirates Road near Sports City, police and hospital sources said. “Three victims died on the spot while one man died on the way to the hospital,” a police source said.

The victims were identified as Prakasan, Mallayah, Devendra and Beenanath Yadav. Prakasan was driving the mini-van which was transporting some labourers to their work site. “The mini-van was completely destroyed in the accident. The injured labourers were shifted to Rashid Hospital,” the police source said, adding “it is too early to assess the cause of the accident.”

Meanwhile, hospital sources said the injured labourers were responding to the treatment. All the workers belonged to a Dubai-based construction company. Company representatives were not available for comment.
