Patna, Nov 12 (IANS): Congress president Sonia Gandhi and chief ministers of Delhi, West Bengal, Odisha and Uttar Pradesh will attend the November 20 oath taking of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in an event which is being touted as the beginning of opposition unity against the BJP.
Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi and former prime minister H.D. Deve Gowda will also attend the event along with Assam's Congress Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi. So will former chief ministers Babulal Marandi and Hemant Soren of Jharkhand and INLD leader Abhay Chautala from Haryana.
"We have decided to invite all leaders opposed to the BJP to attend the ceremony," Janata Dal-United (JD-U) spokesperson Ajay Alok said here on Thursday.
JD-U general secretary K.C. Tyagi said all the senior leaders opposed to the BJP's brand of politics would come together in the first major show of opposition unity since Narendra Modi became prime minister in May 2014.
"It will be a new beginning of opposition unity," he said.
The Grand Alliance led by Nitish Kumar -- who will take oath as chief minister for a third straight time -- also includes the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) of Lalu Prasad and the Congress. It crushed the BJP and its allies, winning 178 of the 243 assembly seats.
The chief ministers expected to attend are Akhilesh Yadav (Samajwadi Party, Uttar Pradesh), Naveen Patnaik (BJD, Odisha), Arvind Kejriwal (AAP, Delhi) and Mamata Banerjee (Trinamool Congress, West Bengal).
Lalu Prasad, whose RJD is the single largest party in the new Bihar house, and JD-U president Sharad Yadav will be the main guests at the event.
Nitish Kumar on Wednesday said he will recommend the dissolution of the state assembly on Saturday after holding a last meeting of his cabinet. He will stake claim to form his new government after a joint meeting of the Grand Alliance that day.
According to JD-U leaders here, Nitish Kumar will take oath along with a 36-member council of ministers after the Chhath festival in the third week of November.
In the Grand Alliance, the RJD won 80 seats followed by the JD-U with 71 and the Congress with 27 seats. There will be 16 ministers from the RJD, 15 from the JD-U and five from the Congress.

Fri, Nov 13 2015For the peace and prosperity of this country the biased media should first be banned ( SPECIALLY bARKHA dUTT) whose sole aim is to fan the communal feelings in the country by interviewing politicians on communally sensitive issues and then reporting the way she wants. She getting herself photographed with Lalu after Bihar election results were d is the single most disgusting scene.
She is extremely biased against BJP and Hindus alike and many a times presents distorted versions.
As for Nitish's oath taking, ofcourse all anti modi will come together but once dust settles down the partners will start arm twisting the CM for their own benefit. They are no saints and the rift will be there for all to see. Modi at one time was believed to be invincible but not anymore. Same will be fate of Nitish because he has come to power through unholy camrediere with the uncultured and opportunist factions. This has also strengthened their belief that any level of corruption by politcians in Bihar is not a taboo and they can indulge in more of this.
Sad state of affairs in our country. Inadept handling of the country by Congress for last 50 yrs does not deserve any mention in the media but Modi bashing is getting the TRPs for the news channels!

Fri, Nov 13 2015Nithish Kumar raised to top level in his political career because of BJP.
He was Railway minister in Vajapayee government.
Later he won the Bihar election with BJP partner.
Now he has dumped BJP and join hands with corrupt Congis and Lallu.
He has used BJP as a ladder to climb the top.

Coming days BJP will see absolute loss in state elections no matter how hard Feku will try to fool people across the country.
People of India have already realised BJP mukth India is the only way forward for a democratic India.

Thu, Nov 12 2015BJP consecutively succumbed to two engineers, Kejri and Nitish. Unfortunately in Karnataka a super brain like Nilekani had to lose to Ananth Kumar. If the other states too take Delhi and Bihar's examples,we can hope to have some educated representatives of people who really can understand complexities of today's Economics and politics and can make some independent wise decisions without being puppets in the hands of corporate kingpins.

Thu, Nov 12 2015so the future of Indian politics is going to be - BJP versus rest, like the 2 party system in USA. And all these morons lecturing on secularism, will come together. And this is going to make BJP stronger, and make it the only PAN India party.

Thu, Nov 12 2015Your allergy with the word "secular" must get some .....treatment. You were under a false notion that under the leadership of BJP led by Mr. Modi, India will be transformed as an autocratic theocracy. The 31% electorate voted with big economic dreams, not with religious dreams.
The BJP, when they got the big majority, jumped into some super and false confidence lake and began to swim thinking that the 79% population of India, the Hindus will jump into the same lake to swim with you all.
No, sir, you are going to learn a new lesson. Watch for the cooled down welcome at England for Mr. Modi. Can he bring massive FDI to India while his party and leadership are in challenge now?
Do you know the history of world communism, how it took over the world but crashed within 75 years without an atom bomb?

For the peace and prosperity of India, it is very urgent to erase the Gujarathi deadly political virus from all over India. So delighted to see the participation of the various political leaders from different States attending the Oath Taking ceremony at Bihar.
For the mere survival of the BJP, the personally appointed right hand man of Mr. Modi, Amith Shaw must step down from the seat
else, the BJP will be experiencing serious cracks.
