Chhota Rajan reunites with sisters on Bhai Dooj

New Delhi, Nov 14 (TOI): Underworld don Chhota Rajan and his Maharashtra-based sisters had an emotional meeting after almost three decades in the national Capital on the occasion of 'Bhai Dooj'. Malini Sakpal and Sunita Sakkharam Chavan were allowed to meet Rajan, who is presently in CBI custody, amidst tight security. On Thursday, the sisters had moved a plea in a trial court seeking the court's permission to meet Rajan on grounds of "compassion", saying they have not met Rajan for the past 27 years and wanted to "bless" him.

On Friday, the hearing on the plea of sisters took place at the residence of Special CBI Judge Vinod Kumar who directed Sunita and her elder sister Malini to approach CBI's investigating officer with their application. The court asked the IO to consider the plea keeping in view the security concerns. By late afternoon, CBI allowed the plea but the meeting took place at CBI headquarters only around 5.30 because of security reasons. The sisters--especially Malini, who looked frail possibly because of old age, were accompanied by the former's son-in-law Anil Menon.
