My visit will bring India-China closer: Rajnath

New Delhi, Nov 18 (IANS): Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh has said his China visit, beginning on Wednesday, would "help in deepening of mutual understanding and trust" between the two neighbouring countries.

"Leaving New Delhi for Beijing. Shall spend six days in China for bilateral meetings and other engagements," the minister tweeted, adding that the trip would help the two Asian giants to come closer to each other.

"During my China visit, I intend to further strengthen the tradition of mutual learning and better understanding from each other," the tweet said.

"I'm looking forward to my visit to China. Hope it would help in deepening of mutual understanding and trust," another tweet said.

Rajnath Singh's China visit would be the first trip by an Indian home minister to the country in a decade. Shivraj Patil as home minister had visited China in 2005.
