Kerala kiss of love organiser, wife arrested in sex racket case

Trivandrum, Nov 18 (NDTV): The organiser of Kerala's Kiss of Love protest, Rahul Pashupalan, his wife and seven others have been arrested in a case involving sex racket. Six others have been arrested for operating a website on child pornography, said police sources.

The controversial "Kiss of Love" campaign took place earlier this year to protest against alleged incidents of moral policing in the state.

A group of Facebook users had come up with the idea after Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha volunteers allegedly vandalized a hotel in Kozhikode, alleging that immoral activities were going on there.

Couples were asked to gather on Valentine's Day to give public displays of affection.

But the police cracked down on the campaign, taking protesters into preventive custody to maintain law and order.

Just a recall of some great thoughts!

    Lydia,

First, kissing in public is not obscene. If a couple want to express love for each other we should not have any problems with it.

Secondly, you have mentioned that these people should take up some noble causes. I don`t know what is more noble in a democracy than to fight for one`s freedom of expression.

Please understand that the organisers are holding the kiss of love as a protest against moral policing. So they are doing exactly what moral policing opposes. If you are against kiss of love then you definetly side with the moral police. Simply because there is not much difference between your thinking and that of moral policing goons.

Do you know why moral police exist these days its because people find it ok for them to do moral policing. Has there been a serious protest against them? no. Thats because majority of people support moral policing. Just read all the comments in any news regarding kiss of love article, you will see that majority of people endorse moral policing.

twenty years ago i believe Mangalore was a better place. but now all you have to do is just type Mangalore in youtube and you get this - moral policing videos. guys beating up girls. This is what Mangalore has become.

Just because these people have been arrested for whatever crime they have been involved in, it does not mean that their protest against the so called moral policing was wrong.
And at the same time it does not mean that the so called Moral Policing is right.
The Moral Policing that is referred to, here ....was wrong, is wrong and will always remain wrong.

We have seen most of the protests from this type of issues have hidden selfish reasons. But some blind people in the society without thinking comment nonsense .

Same Cell phone use inside college premises to blackmail girls & late night parties to promote drugs.

We the people who encourage by depending political party or religions group are responsible for many crime.

At least from now think twice before pen any thing to support. Please save our young generation who will be a victim of such rackets.

    dear Mallar.
your comments shows how people use Hindutva if any intolarence in India.
People want to come to front line, for that they dont hesitate to use Hindu name. I saw many photos of hardik patel in FB, but till now no media shown. Even if they come to light people will bark that RSS and BJP is taking revange.

One of comments on Manishankar Ayyars Statement by Me. R.Nayak, MangaloreWednesday, November 18, 2015
"Mani Shankar Iyer is paid by RSS/BJP to talk insensibly against Modi and thereby further spoil vote bank of congress. He is in real anti cong man."
Today Mr. Kurshid gave statement on same manner.
    he too belongs to BJP/RSS??
