Dubai, Aug 16: Following the age-old tradition of 'Monthi Festh 'held every year on the occasion of the birthday of Mother Mary in Mangalore and surrounding towns of Dakshina Kannada district,  St Mary's Konkan Community (SMKC)  will hold 'Monthi Fest on Friday September 7.  

The festive Solmen mass will be held at 10.00 am in the main church followed by offering of the flowers to Mother Mary by little children in front of the Grotto in the church compound. 

New corns will be blessed during the mass and distributed to all the faithful after the Eucharistic celebration.    The traditional "Novem Jevann" of 7 vegetables and vorn (payasam) will be served in the Church Compound at around 12.00 to all.

Lunch coupons are priced only at Dhs 5/- per head to facilitate larger participation of Konkani speaking community members. This being the family feast, more and more families are invited to participate in this "Novem Jevann" traditional lunch as one united family on Friday September 7, 2007.
