Actor David Canary dead at 77


Los Angeles, Nov 25 (IANS): Actor David Canary, who starred in TV series “All My Children” and “One Life to Live”, has died. He was 77.

The actor breathed his last in a natural death on November 16 at an assisted living home in Wilton, Connecticut, reports people.com.

Canary began his acting career in theater in New York before working in television and in film. His first role in a soap opera was that of a physical therapist in Peyton Place. 

In 1980s, he began his 26-year tenure on “All My Children”, in which he had 16 Emmy nominations and won five Outstanding Actor Awards for his roles as Stuart and Adam. 

Canary was married to Maureen for 33 years with whom he also had a son, Christopher and a daughter, Kathryn. 

Former co-actress Kelly Ripa, who played Canary's daughter in “All My Children”, tweeted her sadness at the news. 

"So sad to learn of the passing of the great David Canary. An incredibly talented actor. A wonderful man. I was lucky to know you,” she posted.
