China to enhance security in entertainment venues

Beijing, Nov 26 (IANS): Chinese authorities are set to enhance the security of entertainment venues to prevent the crimes related to gambling and prostitution, a media report said on Thursday.

According to the public security ministry, security checks will be enhanced in recreational venues, including music and dance clubs, bathhouses and massage parlours, as well as gaming centres, the Global Times reported.

Venues found to be involved in gambling or prostitution will be placed on a "black list," the ministry said.

Regional law enforcement officials who harbour suspects involved with gambling or prostitution or who tip off suspects about imminent police inspections will be sacked and investigated for criminal liability.
