Sharjah, Aug 19: Karnataka Sangha Sharjah celebrated 60th year Indian Independence day on 17th Aug 2007 at Asia Palace Hotel , Mubarak Center, Sharjah. Program started by lighting the lamp by the degnitaries.
Dr. Sham sunder, Mediplus Diagnostic Centre, sharjah was the chief guest on the day, Mark Denis D' Souza, Patron of Karnataka Sangha Sharjah, Ganesh Rai, Ex-president of the Sangha, S.S. Rao of Mysore Palace Hotel, Sharjah,Sahid Sullia ,Karnataka Youth Congress general secretary,Dr.Subhash ,Heart Specialist ,Abu Dhabi were the guests.
"Karnataka Sangha, Sharjah doing a very good job by rendering humanitarian services to its members as well as to the community members, and I am delighted very much about their future plans which are in the pipeline," Dr. Sham Sunder said in his speech.
Prabhakara Ambaltere urged the people of Karnataka, residing in Sharjah and nothern emirates to become the member of Karnataka Sangha Sharjah, to avail the benefits offered on health checkup, health insurance scheme, and he explained the scheme for the members who are going back to India, permanently.
The programme started with welcome dance performed by Vinita Nityanand, followed by patriotic songs by children.
There was on the spot demonstration of sketching on canvas about 'message on world peace' by J.K. Chandra Shekar, renowned artist from South Kanara district. Ganesh Rai, the Ex-president of the sangha provided some very useful clues and details about usage of colors in painting at the time of demonstration.
'Jai Hind' a patriotic short play was performed by Mustafa and his freinds and "Yechchama Nayaka" one act play was performed by Mustafa himself, brilliently.
On the spot speech and quiz competetion was arranged for enthusiastic member audiences and the response was wonderful
Highligth of the programme was a patriotic short play "Vande Mataram" perfomed by the members of sangha,the concept of the play made the audience emotional.
Entertainment programme concluded with a dance by Shajin Sattar and followed by gala dinner.
Vote of thanks proposed by Shanthram Achar
