UPDATE 2

Mangalore, Aug 19: ‘Screaming, meowing, wailing’ is no longer the spine-tingling scenario near the alleged ‘haunted’ house located in Ballal Bagh. This is the latest discovery made here late night on Saturday, August 18.

Interestingly, hundreds of youths who had come from various corners of the city and had gathered there all agog to hear the now-famous ghosts’ screaming, were in for a major disappointment. Moreover, the police too came on the scene and used canes to disperse the gawking crowds.

This raised the hackles from several members of the crowd, who were not pleased with the attitude of the police. In retaliation, the angry youth started shouting slogans against the alleged police insensitivity at not allowing them to hear or see the much-talked-about, so-called ‘ghost.’

On the other hand, Prof Narendra Nayak of the Rationalists' Association who was also present at the spot at midnight, speaking to ‘daijiworld.com,’ pointed out, “This is nothing but mass hysteria. People are simply wasting their time here. There is nothing called ‘ghost,’" he opined firmly.

The locals here however insist that the said chilling sounds were being heard only over the past one week and that they had never heard similar weird sounds at the spot before.

Some people point the finger of suspicion on a certain local lad who is said to be a good mimic. Accordingly, a few locals were keeping a close watch on his activities on Saturday midnight. He has been long suspected to be the person trying to create all those sounds to create panic among the women students who are staying in the hostels located next to this ‘ghost’ building.

In spite of all this information, the curiosity continues unabated till date, and people are coming here in large numbers and seem to be still interested in knowing the truth behind this screaming spree by the so-called ‘ghost’.

Mr.Johnson Pinto comments are really worth considering. This is nothing but hype created either by building mafia to purchase this land at throw away prices or also by local mimicry person to harass to hostel girls who are residing next building.

My opinion to Mangaloeans is to be brave and united. There is no such thing called ghost except living human devils.

I have read articles about the haunted house at Ballal Bagh and am not able to say with pinpoint accuracy what is the truth. However, I feel the presence of the ghost is a big hoax. Probably, as some builder wants to buy this property, he may have requisitioned the services of the mafia to scare the owner(s) to sell the property at a rock bottom or throw away price.

It could also be a handiwork of a bloke who excels in mimicry to create a scare and hysteria in the locality. Then, he could watch fun from a safe distance and enjoy at others' cost. Over the years, I have heard a lot of first hand encounters faced by people and most of them were reliable people and not yarn or fib masters. Their experiences were worth listening to. Maybe one day I would be able to present it in the form of a write up.

…so wats the climax of this bhoota story? Is it going to continue like Star Plus serials? This story can be given to Ram Gopal Varma to make Bhoot second part, with an Item song by Rakhi Saavanth.

I believe that there is no ghost in the premises. This is some foul play being done by some builder's mafia to buy this property at a throw away price by frightening the owners or residents of these premises.
