Mumbai, Dec 8: Billavara Association Dombivli local office held annual sports festival at Dombivli Gymkhana grounds on Sunday December 6.

Former vice president of Billavara Assocation and Bharath Bank director C T Salian, Dombivli local committee executive president Devaraj Poojary, donor Girija S Palan, vice president Chandrahas Palana, C N Karkera and honorary treasurer Lalithachandra Suvarna lit the traditional lamp and set the sports festival in motion.

Sports events for various ages were held from five year olds to senior citizens. Separate games were held for men and women. Men played cricket and women Kho Kho and Throwball in the afternoon. Separate tug of war games were held for men and women at the end.

Nilesh Poojary, honorary secretary Umesh Kotian, cultural sub committee honorary secretary Ashok Kukian, Yasavanth Poojary, Girija Sanjeeva Palana, Ramachandra Bangera and committee office bearers were
present on the dais as guests of honour.

Individual champions Pavan Kukyan, Harshitha Poojary, Pavan Poojary, Sampritha Suvarna, Vijnesh Poojary, Vaishnavi Poojary and other winners were presented medals, trophy, rolling shield and certificate and honored by the guests of honour on the dais.

Executive president Devaraj Poojary expressed his gratitude to all those who helped in the programme. The sports events were held under the supervision of former executive president of Dombivli local committee Ravi S Sanil.

Vice president Chandrahas Palana, C N Karkera, joint secretary Navish Ameen, honorary treasurer Lalitchandra Suvarna, joint treasurer Ashish Kotian, committee members Manjappa Poojary, Somanath Poojary, Vital Ameen, J K Sanil, Sunil Salian, Anand Poojary, Prema Poojary, Yashoda Karkera, Devika Salian, Hemalatha Suvarna and other women wing members, youth wing members Vinay Poojary, Naveen Poojary and other youth wing members helped to hold the festival.

Ravi S Sanil welcomed the gathering, compered the programme and proposed the vote of thanks.
