Kundapur, Dec 11: The court here, which has ordered registration of criminal case against the local assistant commissioner, Charulatha Somal, who happens to be an IAS officer, has ordered her personal appearance in the court for hearing.
A senior advocate from the town, Shiriyara Muddanna Shetty, had alleged that during the verification of revenue-related files in an appeal case, the assistant commissioner had publicly derided him. After he filed a complaint, the court verified it. After examining eyewitnesses of the incident, senior advocate, T B Shetty, advocate, Pramod Hande and others, the court ordered registration of criminal case against the assistant commissioner.
It has asked Charulatha to personally appear in the court on January 23, 2016 for hearing.
