'Gandhi's comments on National Herald case insult to democracy'

New Delhi, Dec 12 (IANS): Union Minister for Human Resource Development Smriti Irani on Friday slammed Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi for his comment that "National Herald case is vendetta coming out of the prime minister's office", calling it an insult to democracy.

"There can't be a bigger insult to our democracy. Judiciary and democracy don't function at someone's comfort," Irani said addressing a session at 'Agenda Aaj Tak' being organised here in the city.

The statements being made by Gandhi show that if the "Judiciary doesn't kneel before the Gandhi family, parliament won't be allowed to function".

Not only RG's statement but he and his mother both are a blot on our democracy. Sad part is they have a number of blind followers in their party who can not see and think beyond these two people. They forget that court cases are resolved in the courts and not in the parliament. I hope the Indian public in general can see the sinister design of these two people who are obstructing every developmental agenda of the present government. They have proved beyond all reasoning that they are very poor losers. For any of the cases against them and their family they challenge this government to investigate and when investigation begins they start shouting saying that it is a political vendetta. It is indeed a very sad state of politics in our country that the ruling party wth majority is held to ransom by these 40 odd morons!
