Three chain snatchers nabbed, gold worth Rs 1.53 lac recovered

Mangaluru, Dec 12: In a major breakthrough, Bajpe police on Friday December 11 arrested three chain-snatchers reportedly involved in chain-snatching incidents across city.

Police have also recovered gold chains worth 1.53 lac and seized Honda activa and a tempo.

The arrested have been identified as Subramanya (36) resident of Sulthan Battery, Umesh (48) resident of Thokkottu, Manikanta (32) resident of Adam Kudru.

According to sources, it is learnt that the accused have been involved in five chain-snatchings in Kadri (Barebail), Bantwal (Chelooru), Mulky, Gurupura and Yedapadavu (Bajpe station limits).

Bajpe police inspector TD Nagaraj, PSI Ramesh Hanepura, ASI Sukumar, Jayananda, Chandramohan, Murthy, Bharath, Devappa arrested the accused.
