Mangaluru: Jewellery worth Rs 4 lac stolen from house in Suratkal

Mangaluru, Dec 14: Thieves who broke into a house near old post office in Suratkal walked away with jewellery worth Rs 5 lac and Rs 10,000 cash. The incident took place on the night of Saturday, December 12.

Satish Rao the owner of the house went to sleep after closing the main door at 11 pm. The thieves used a big tree near the house to enter the terrace of the house. Then they stole the gold jewellery and cash from the bedroom to go out using the main door.

There were three people in the house during the theft. But they were not aware about the theft. It is said that the door on the terrace was not properly shut which helped the thieves to gain an easy access.

Suratkal police have registered a case.
