Cong, BJP clash in LS over withdrawal of invite to Kerala CM

New Delhi, Dec 14 (PTI): Congress and BJP members clashed in the Lok Sabha today over the exclusion of Kerala Chief Minister from a Prime Minister's event tomorrow with the former alleging that the PM's constitutional position was being used for "political vendetta", a charge denied by the government.

Home Minister Rajnath Singh dismissed the charge as "baseless" and said the decision to withdraw the invite to Chandy for the event in Kerala tomorrow was taken by SNDP, a social organisation which is hosting it, due to its "internal row" and the government had nothing to do with it.

The Speaker was forced to adjourn the House earlier due to the uproar over the issue, along with the protests by AAP members against demolition drive in the national capital.
K C Venugopal (Cong) raised it during the Zero Hour soon after the House reassembled noon.

"It is an agonising issue which has seriously affected emotions of people of Kerala and the country. It is a serious breach of political morality... Due to the unfair political move by the ruling party at the Centre (BJP), he (Chandy) was dropped. The entire state is shocked and agitating.

"The PMO or the Prime Minister has a hand in this. Humiliating the Chief Minister is humiliation of Kerala. The constitutional position is being used for political vendetta," Venugopal said.

Citing the programme schedule sent to the PMO by the state's protocol department, he said it included the name of Chandy who was to preside over the function while Modi was to unveil the statue of former state chief minister R Shankar.

"This is against cooperative fedralism. The Prime Minister like always is keeping unjustifiable silence," he said. Rejecting the charge as "unfounded and baseless", the Home Minister said it was true that SNDP had first invited Chandy which led to some "internal row" within it and the organisation then adopted a "unanimous resolution" saying the Chief Minister should not come.

"Who is invited and who is not is a decision for the SNDP to take and the government has nothing to do with it," Singh said. Asserting that the central government does not want any confrontation with states, the Minister said it had taken many steps to strengthen "cooperative federalism".

Venugopal said the event has been projected as a private event due to political reason.
Saugata Roy (TMC) was heard saying that the Prime Minister should not go to the event amid protests by Congress and Left members.

The members of the three parties soon staged a walk out, along with those of the NCP and RJD. Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Rajiv Pratap Rudy cited a letter by Chandy quoting him that he would not be attending the event as he was not available. Rudy said Venugopal's charge was absolutely incorrect. SNDP, an organisation of Ezhava community, has entered into an political alliance with the BJP.

The Monsoon session in Parliament washed by Congress by disruption over Sushma Swaraj. The Congress is doing the same in Winter session by disrupting over non-sense issues. It is sad that Congress is not bothered about development of the country when Modi is doing the heavy lifting.

The UPA PM although named as the silent Man,but always spoke on crucial issues at the LS.
Modi is interested in making long speeches at the LS and he has failed to answer the house.
All were expecting Modi to make big noise in the LS and the dollar to go down Rs 50 to the US$1 and its opposite now.
I bet you guys,if there is a election now,BJP will not get even 100 seats all over India.
Please note the Bullet train was discussed by former UPA PM and Modi only urgently signed it because the Gujju people cannot pay the flight fare between Mumbai and Ahmadabad.

Mr. R. Sankar was a Congress leader and the former CM of Kerala. For the official dedication of his
statue, the Congress CM of Keala
    was kept away.

While the PM is visiting a State, as a political protocol, either the Governor or the CM will have to preside the function, there also it is a big violation.

Home Minister Singh, your BJP was Bhart Joker's Party, now it must be called the "National
Insane Party". Your party's autocratic rule of law will be challenged very severely by the people of India and the Parliament will be rocking due to many such irresponsible policies undertaken secretly by your party. Simply wait and watch!

The BJP has enlisted those CMs of Kerala as shooting target due to their participation at the Bihar
    Government formation under
Mr. Nitish Kumar. Wait and watch the outcome of this totally reckless behavior of the BJP Government.

Did I say Pappu, what is wrong with you? You hold on to BJP and put the golden statue of Modiji and worship him, that is your personal choice and right.

The Hindus living in the foreign lands are now watching what is going in India under the aache din BJP rule and greatly alarmed by the dangerous march of the nation towards disorder.

    You judge your own party!

The chief of Arunachal Pradesh RSS said that the RSS followers in the State of Arunachal Pradesh eat beef, no objection for the people of India to consume beef. What a generous leader?

In Kerala, a great percentage of Hindus including the high caste is consuming beef but the BJP leader was too kind enough to allow the people of Kerala that BJP won't barricade the eating of beef in Kerala. What a great compassion?

Both in Maharastra and Haryana, beef handling is a serious crime,
5 years prison term and Rs. 10000 penalty in Maharasta but in Haryana 10 years prison term and Rs. 5000 penalty.

The BJP CM of Goa said that they will be eating beef in Goa.

The same party in different States have different laws with regard to the major issue of the BJP, the Holy Cow issue. The HC of Maharastra said that the right to eat the food of our choice is not included in the fundamental right clause of the Constitution of India.

Is this rationality or irrationality or insanity?

BJP is getting a good taste of their own medicine when they were in opposition and did not allow the UPA/Congress government to function at all and then accused it of 'policy paralysis'.
Now BJP will begin to understand the true meaning of policy paralysis.

This is not a BJP function..Organizers are SNDP(Social Organization).Rahul,Italian lady and gang should protest against SNDP and not BJP or Modi..Congis have no work..For everything they are pulling Modiji and disrupting Parliament..Yesterday President Mr.Pranab Mukharjee said " Issues should be solved through debate and by disrupting Parilament"..That is why AAP leader Kejriwala called Rahul as a KID and immatured..He is not only immatured, uneducated too..!! Hijacking India through Pariament disruption..Next time he wont get a chance to enter Pariament..VOTERS WILL TEACH HIM A LESSON.

Note: Rahul should read Pak legend cricketer,Politician Imran Khan's comment in yesterday's newspaper about Indian PM Mr.Modi..That is enough to know who is Modi and who are Rahul and gang...

Big salute to INC for taking such protocol issue in LS.
BJP & RSS are seriously pursuing hatred filled divisive politics.
Not even following protocol of respecting elected CM of a state.
Contrary they employ people to jeer political opponents and they cheer that on the stage!
Such is their great culture and tradition which they are proud of.
Are they not hijacking great Indian tradition?

    Dear Adhil Khan,
Just now i clarified one that finction is not PM's function or Govt function.
    Its entirely related to SNDP.
So no protocol to invite CM. If i invite PM to my home for function no need to invite Mr. Siddarammayya also.
And rotocol breaking is when PM called meeting of All CM's and Mr. Chandy opposed to attend.
