PM Modi accuses rival fronts of looting Kerala

Thrissur, Dec 14 (PTI): On his first visit to Kerala after assuming office, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a strong attack on the ruling Congress-led UDF and the CPI(M), accusing them of indulging in "loot" of the state by turns during their tenure in power and hiding their "sins".

Addressing a public meeting organised by the party, he referred to the BJP's success in the local bodies election last month and asserted it has emerged as the "third force" in Kerala that will replace the two fronts in the next year's Assembly elections and transform the state's fortunes.

"Unfortunately, Kerala's politics is such that two coalitions have been ruling the state and looting its people. One coalition comes to power and loots. People get angry every five years and throw it out and another coalition comes. This cycle has been continuing so far.

Both the coalitions are busy hiding each other's sins and then continue with their loot.
"Now the people of Kerala need not get angry any more. A third force has emerged in Kerala. It is like Lord Shiva's third eye, which will destroy the sins and free the state from the evils and corruption. The emergence of the third force will change Kerala's future and bring prosperity and peace in the state," Modi said.

Likening the third force to the 'third eye' of Lord Shiva in this temple town, where the famous Wadakunathar Temple for Shiva is located, he said it would destroy the "evils" of the two fronts, an apparent reference to the Congress-led UDF and CPI(M)-led Left Front.

The Prime Minister, who was on his first visit to Kerala after assuming office, was addressing a public meeting organised by his party at the Thekkinkadu ground in front of the temple where the annual world-famous Pooram festival is conducted.

Looking at the good crowd and its response, Modi said the gathering is an indication that Kerala has decided to bring a "change" by electing BJP to power in the next elections.
Referring to the dominance of the two rival fronts in Kerala for decades, Modi said in a state where social reformers like Sree Narayana Guru had fought and removed social untouchability, a climate of political untouchability is still prevalent in Kerala.

"This untouchability is carried to such lengths and those opposed to their political ideology are harassed and sometimes physically eliminated. Their (fronts') thinking process is such," he said.

Modi said that at least over 200 BJP workers have been killed in the last 50 years just because of ideological differences. "If you see the political history of any state in India, Kerala is probably the only one where in the last 50 years BJP has suffered political vendetta and probably no other party has suffered that much like in Kerala," he said.

The Prime Minister the BJP worker in Kerala stands tall and is a shining example of commitment and perseverance to the party workers throughout the country.

"I tell BJP men everywhere to look at the dedication of BJP workers in Kerala. There is no victory in sight, no power or positions in sight. But they have been fighting for the nationalist cause. After every election, the only review they used to undertake is to check whether they have retained their deposits, whether the defeat margin is bigger or smaller than the previous results," he said.

Yeah, chhadis will say because of the US Fed raising interest rates. Sorry guys, that was factored in months ago. See the petrol prices in India compared to global oil prices. Rupee is only going to dive further down in 2016 maybe to 70. Modi is a celebrated orator and best brand ambassador, but a helpless and incompetent prime minister.

Throughout his campaign in 2014 Modi pulled up congress scams. Today, it is reported in news that SC is angry with CBI for delaying cases related to even coal scam.

The question is why? The answer is either Modi Govt is incompetent or congress is clean. In coal scam Modi claimed congress looted 1.86lakh crore, where is it now?
Despite almost 2years in power CBI is able to prove nothing neither they can get the looted money back.
Either congress is clean, therefore, Modi Govt can not find anything to implicate it. That implies Modi and BJP is top class liars, who fooled the nation.

If that argument is incorrect, then since Modi Govt can prove any wrong doing till now, despite all evidences, proves they are the most incompetent government to rule independent India. Let it be known India wants convictions, not just cases registered or judicial commissions.

Many non-Keralite Indians working in the Gulf tend to dislike them referring to them as 'mallus' but I think that is because Keralites are hardworking, smart and proven 'survivors' capable of surviving against very difficult odds and politics is second nature to them. Fact is 31% of India's voting population voted for BJP. Fact is they won Haryana, Maharashtra for the first time ever. Fact is they retained Jharkhand & Goa. Fact is that they came No.2 in Jammu Kashmir & formed coalition Govt.

We all know what happened in Delhi. Congress stripped, removed chaddis & handed over entire vote share on Golden platter to AAP & bacame ZERO. Fight was there only from BJP who went 2% more on vote share, but unfortunately with Dongis becoming 8% from 23% with ZERO seats, AAP won.

Bihar it was ALL against BJP, so there.

How many billions of FDI has landed in India?

Agree only PARTLY with your comment. Know this that religious extremist, rightist, leftist parties prosper and thrive only when democratic governments/parties badly fail to live up to people's expectations and when there is no other strong centrist or centre-right or centre-left party to replace them. So people tend to vote out of anger and frustration and when they do so they tend to vote for either religious extremists or rightists or leftists. Such parties are also very much aware of people's tendencies to vote that way and exploit it to the maximum to fill the vacuum created by governments that do not deliver.

The large scale minority appeasement by both LDF & UDF has actually awakened the more moderate Hindus. Huge investment sectors like Education, Housing, Law & Order, Infrastructure have all been garnered by IUML and their population has increased multi-fold across decades now.

BJP is providing a ray of hope amongst the hugely fructured Kerala mandate with a see saw history. Both fronts are equally corrupt & scheming. The increasing vote share of BJP is giving them the jitters. Just look at vote share, from a measly 5% in the 1980's to 20% in the recently concluded local body elections. Thiruvananthapuram, Kasaragod, Palakkad are Saffron bastions, with Thrissur joining this league now. Lotus will bloom in Assembly elections in 2016 from Kerala!

This will only benefit the terror elements in Pakistan. First it will bolster Dawood's Ibrahim's illegal betting business. Next is the spectators of both countries coming close to each other either one to one or through third party will facilitate exchange of lot of things like surveillance, reconnaissance, terror cells organizing and training strategies and fake currency. In all its win win opportunity for Pakistan and India may have to pay the cost. So NO INDIA-PAKISTAN CRICKET SERIES..
