Puttur, Dec 15: An upper part of the body of a woman was found in skeleton form at Bhakthakodi Renjiladi near here on Monday, December 14.

The local people who experienced the bad smell of a rotten human being went in search and later found the head part of the body wrapped in a gunny bag. They informed the police upon spotting the body. Puttur rural police sub inspector B S Ravi visited the place with his personnel and took necessary measures.

Forensic experts have been called to assist in the investigations, the police said.

The head part was separated from lower part of the body. Police and the locals who searched for the lower part of the body did not find it anywhere nearby. It has been established beyond doubt that it was a murder. Only the identity of the woman deceased and identities of murderers need to be known.

In the initial search, bangles and saree were found meters away from the place where the body was found. Police are going through the missing complaints of women, especially from the area, to get initial leads.

Police sources said that murder seem like to have been committed by professional murderers.
