Udupi, Dec 15: Superintendent of police (SP) Annamalai has responded openly after the news appeared in the media few days back that he would be transferred soon.
S P Annamalai who spoke through a communication from the district police department said that ‘Transfers are done as per the direction from the government. Nobody should listen to rumours on the transfer. I request the people not to resort to any type of protest .’
It is now obvious that S P Annamalai could have felt that the people of the area would protest if his transfer order came. Extremely popular police officer S P Annamalai is known for honesty, efficiency and no-nonsense approach. Rumours were doing rounds during the last weekend that he would be transferred soon due to the influence of anti-social elements.
Meanwhile there are reports that some organisations have already planned silent protests to stop the transfer of the popular police officer. The transfer is believed to be in the 'planning stage.'
