Praveen Kumar Jain is JD(S) candidate for MLC elections

Mangaluru, Dec, 15: “Several grampanchayat representatives and independent candidates have assured to support JD(S) candidate Praveen Kumar Jain in the upcoming legislative council elections from Daskhina Kannada constituency,” said Moideen Kunhi, district president of JDS, during a press meet on Monday December 14.

“There are rebel candidates in Congress and BJP which will facilitate the JD(S) candidate in election. Congress and BJP parties have not given opportunity for new faces for the upcoming elections. There are 242 elected representatives in local bodies in undivided Dakshina Kannada.”

“Sitting MLCs Kota Shrinivas Poojary and Prathap Chandra Shetty from past 12 years have not responded to strengthen panchayati raj and increase the allowance of panchayat members in Vidhana Parishad. All these things will help us during the legislative council elections,” he said.

The district president of JD(S) also informed that dummy candidate Prakash Shetty will withdraw his nomination filed for MLC from Dakshina Kannada constituency.

“He has not taken back his nomination and remains as contestant for MLC elections as of now. District JD(S) committee had asked to withdraw his nomination. State president has announced Praveen Kumar Jain as the official candidate from JD(S).”

On this occasion candidate Praveen Kumar Jain, corporator Rameeza Nasir, Vasanth Poojary and others were present.
